Stephanie Dowrick is the author of a number of life-changing best-selling books, including Intimacy and Solitude, Forgiveness and Other Acts of Love, The Universal Heart and Choosing Happiness: Life and Soul Essentials.

Her new book is The Almost Perfect Marriage: One-minute relationship skills.

She has the rare distinction of having had five No.1 bestselling books and in 1997 a novel, Tasting Salt, and a non-fiction book, Forgiveness and Other Acts of Love, were both No.1. bestsellers in Australia. The Universal Heart was also No. 1 bestseller in 2000, and Choosing Happiness in 2005. Her most recent books include Creative Journal Writing: The Art & Heart of Reflection (April, 2007) and An Almost Perfect Marriage: One-minute relationship skills (October 2007). Her books have been translated into a number of languages including Greek, Hungarian, Russian, Dutch, Spanish and French.

She has been the "Inner Life" columnist for Good Weekend Magazine since 2001 and has also been a regular guest on ABC Radio for many years. A collection of her columns, along with some other more personal writings, was published as Free Thinking.

Stephanie was ordained in 2005 as an Interfaith Minister and gives talks and conducts retreats and workshops on a variety of spiritual, psychological and ethical issues.

Born in New Zealand, she lived in London for many years where in 1977 she founded the prestigious independent publishing house, The Women's Press. She has lived in Sydney since 1983 and is the mother of two children.
